A former village sweet shop
Bridge Hill Cottage sits right in the middle of Hook Norton, a pretty village that has kept its period charm. Built around 1790, and once the village sweet shop, it has been carefully modernised, yet the 200-year-old oak beams, thick stone walls and inglenook fireplace are all still here.
Two living rooms downstairs: one round the fire, and the "Minstrels' Gallery" with its bar billiards, piano and mezzanine. It suits a big family Christmas as well as a quiet couples' retreat.

Newly refitted bathrooms: the en-suite now has a larger shower, and the family bathroom a new shower over the bath with a glass screen. Both freshly redecorated. New photos to follow shortly.

That's six beds in total, sleeping up to ten: eight in beds plus two on the sofa bed. Three bedrooms, two of them en-suite, share the 2.5 bathrooms.
The Minstrels' Gallery is an open mezzanine looking over the second living room, rather than an enclosed bedroom with a door. It works well for children or an easygoing couple, and it's the natural overflow for a group of ten. Please note the cottage's old staircase has gaps between the steps, so young children should be supervised.
