A former village sweet shop
Bridge Hill Cottage sits right in the heart of Hook Norton, a pretty village that has kept its period charm. Built around 1790, and once the village sweet shop, it has been carefully modernised, yet the 200-year-old oak beams, thick stone walls and inglenook fireplace are all still here.
Two living rooms downstairs: one round the fire, and the "Minstrels' Gallery" with its bar billiards, piano and mezzanine. It suits a big family Christmas as well as a quiet couples' retreat.

Both upstairs bathrooms have been modernised since these photos were taken. The en-suite now has a larger shower, and the family bathroom has a new shower screen and shower attachment over the bath. Both have been freshly redecorated.
